Aceh upstream regulator BPMA expects gas production from Block B in Aceh to increase to 60 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) by August 2026, following completion of an ongoing optimization project.
Head of BPMA Nasri Djalal said the project, operated by PT Pema Global Energi, is currently about 70% complete and remains on track to start operations in August.
The optimization program aims to lift production from around 45 MMscfd by adding supporting production facilities.

Nasri said the increase in output will enhance the reliability of gas supply to key consumers, including PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda and the Belawan gas-fired power plant, which receive gas via the Aceh–Belawan transmission pipeline.
BPMA has previously urged the operator to maximize production from the block to support regional energy needs.
PT Pema Global Energi has managed Block B since taking over operatorship from PT Pertamina Hulu Energi in May 2021.
