BRMS reports significant copper and gold resources in Gorontalo

IDX-listed PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk recently reported to have received significant mineral resource estimates from its copper and gold project in Gorontalo, Sulawesi.

The resource estimates were completed by the ASX listed SRK Consulting Pty Ltd on 27 July and 8 August 2012 at the Cabang Kiri and Sungai Mak sites, which are parts of the concession operated by PT Gorontalo Minerals, an 80 percent owned by BRMS and 20 percent owned by PT Aneka Tambang Tbk.

Based on the SRK's report, the Cabang Kiri and the Sungai Mak sites have a combined 292 million tons of ore resources, with average grades of 0.5% for copper and 0.47 g/t for gold (JORC).

"In addition to the Sungai Mak and Cabang Kiri sites, there are several potential mineral resources from the other sites that have not been explored yet within the same concession operated by GM, such as Kayu Bulan, Tulabolo, Cabang Kanan, and other sites," the company said in a statement submitted to the IDX.
