Candidates compete for senior posts at MEMR

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has selected 32 candidates to compete for senior posts at the ministry including director general of oil and gas, director general of mineral and coal, director general of electricity, and director general for new and renewable energy.

Head of the selection committee Teguh Pamuji, who is also Secretary General of the MEMR, was quoted as saying Saturday that the 32 were selected from 100 candidates.

Of the total 32 candidates, 10 apply for the position of the director general of oil and gas post. The candidates competing for the senior post included current acting director general of oil and gas IGN Wiratmadja, upstream oil and gas director Naryanto Wagimin, director for gas at the downstream oil and gas regulator BPH Migas Djoko Siswanto, president director of coal bed methane contractor firm PT Ephindo Sammy Hamzah, and chairman of the Association of Fuel Station Owners (Hiswana Migas) Eri Purnomohadi.

Meanwhile, Teguh said that seven candidates were competing for the director general of mineral and cost post including current director for mineral development and management Edi Prasodjo, and expert staff of the minister Bambang Gatot Ariyono.

Seven candidates are also competing for the director general of electricity post including incumbent Jarman, former president director of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN Nur Pamudji, and former PLN director Hary Jaya Pahlawan.

Candidates competing for the post of director general of new and renewable energy include incumbent Rida Mulyana and current director for bioenergy Dadan Kusdiana. (*)
