Chubu Electric to give technology aid to PLN

Japanese Chubu Electric Power Co. will provide technology assistance to the state owned electricity firm PT PLN's Java-Bali power generation unit.
The Suratkabar.com online reported on Thursday that Chubu would help improve the thermal efficiency of the coal-fired power plant, and reduce its yearly emissions of carbon dioxide by about 14,000 tons. The work is scheduled to be completed by March 2002. (*)
