A court in Jakarta has sentenced former Pertamina Gas Director Hari Karyuliarto to four years and six months in prison for his role in a corruption case related to liquefied natural gas procurement.

In the same case, Yenni Andayani, a former vice president in Pertamina’s gas business unit, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
The court found that Yenni proposed the signing of a circular board resolution related to LNG purchase agreements from Corpus Christi Liquefaction LLC without adequate economic analysis, risk assessment, or confirmed buyers.
Both defendants were also fined Rp200 million each, with a subsidiary penalty of 80 days in detention.
The court said the case caused state losses of $113.84 million, equivalent to about Rp1.77 trillion.
