The MEMR said Indonesia has the potentiality to develop 442 GW of renewable energy-based power plants in the country, which is 6.5 times the capacity of the country's power plant capacity. At present, Indonesia only taps 2.5 percent of the country's renewable energy potential capacity.
The program is also an effort of the Indonesian government to increase the contribution of renewable energy in the national energy mix to 23 percent in 2025.
