The Lampung provincial government signed a memorandum of understanding with Malaysian infrastructure and energy company Citaglobal Berhad to explore investments in renewable energy, waste-to-energy, and sustainable infrastructure projects in the province.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday by Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal and Citaglobal Executive Chairman and President Mohamad Norza Zakaria in Bandar Lampung.
The cooperation will focus on feasibility studies and potential development of floating solar projects, biomass energy, waste-to-energy facilities, and eco-industrial infrastructure in Lampung.
Mirza said Lampung plans to prioritize renewable energy development and identified at least three reservoirs suitable for floating solar projects with potential capacity of 150 megawatts to 200 megawatts each.

The governor added that Lampung has around 1.3 million hectares of biomass potential from agricultural and plantation waste, including rice, corn, cassava, pineapple, and sugarcane residues, which could be converted into alternative energy products.
The two sides also discussed waste-to-energy projects as the province seeks long-term solutions for rising waste volumes. Lampung has been designated by the central government as one of the regions encouraged to develop waste-to-energy facilities.
In addition to energy projects, the discussions covered development of industrial zones and supporting infrastructure aimed at downstream processing industries in southern Sumatra.
Citaglobal said it is currently developing a 200 MW floating solar project in Malaysia and is involved in supplying green energy for the East Coast Rail Link project. The company also operates waste-to-energy and biogas projects, including palm oil waste processing ventures developed with Singapore’s Keppel.
Separate agreements were also signed between regional state-owned company PT Lampung Jasa Utama and Citaglobal subsidiaries to explore development of an eco-industrial park and biomass-based energy projects in Lampung.
