Miners sign contract amendment

A total of 27 mining companies signed on Wednesday amendment of their mining contracts with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan.

They include 12 mineral mining firms holding the mining contracts of work (or KK) and 15 coal mining firms holding the coal contracts of work (or PKP2B).

The government since the past several years has been struggling to push miners to amend their mining contracts to comply with the stipulations set in the 2009 Mining Law as it seeks for greater revenue and benefits from the country?s coal and mineral resources.

The number of KK miners which have signed the contract amendment has now increased to 21 out of the total 33 KK miners. Meanwhile, the number of PKP2B coal miners which have signed the contract amendment has now increased to 37 out of the total 74 PKP2 coal miners.

Meanwhile, Jonan said that he would report to President Joko Widodo regarding the mining firms which have not yet amended their mining contracts, and to discuss what actions to be taken against the miners.

Following is the list of the 12 KK miners which signed contract amendment.
1. PT Kasongan Bumi Kencana, which has 12,380-ha of gold concession in Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan, and has entered production operation phase.
2. PT Citra Palu Mineral, which olds 85,180-ha gold concession in Donggala and Toli-Toli regencies, Central Sulawesi, and has entered feasibility study stage.
3. PT Ensbury Kalteng Mining, which olds 21,110-ha gold concession spanning Kotawaringin Barat and Seruyan regencies, Central Kalimantan, and has entered production phase.
4. PT J Resources Bolaang Mongondow, which holds gold concession totaling 58,150-ha in Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi Province, and has entered production stage.
5. PT Pasifik Masao Mineral, which holds 20,840-ha gold concession in Barito Utara Regency, Central Kalimantan, and has entered feasibility study stage.
6. PT Woyla Aceh Minerals, which holds 24,260-ha gold concession in Aceh Barat Regency, Aceh Province, and has entered exploration stage.
7. PT Dairi Prima Mineral, which holds 27,420-ha zinc and lead mining concession in Dairi Regency, North Sumatra Province, and has entered construction stage.
8. PT Gag Nikel, which holds 13,136-ha nickel concession in Raja Ampat Regency, West Papua Province, and has entered construction stage.
9. PT Galuh Cempaka, which holds 7,470-ha of gold concession in Banjar Baru Regency, Gorontalo Province, and has entered feasibility stage.
10. PT Gorontalo Mineral, which holds a 24,995-ha gold concession in Bone Mongondow Regency, Gorontalo Province, and has entered feasibility study stage.
11. PT Pelsart Tambang Kencana, which holds 66,200-ha gold concession in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, and has entered feasibility study stage.
12. PT Sorikmas Mining, which holds 66,200-ha gold concession in Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra Province, and has entered construction stage.

Meanwhile, 15 PKP2B coal miners which signed the contract amendment are as follows.
1. PT Multi Harapan Utama, first generation PKP2B coal miner with 39,972-ha coal concession located in Kutai Kertanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, which has been in production phase.
2. PT Tanito Harum, first generation PKP2B coal miner with a 34,583-ha coal concession located in Kutai Kertanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, and has been in production phase.
3. PT Marunda Graha Mineral, second generation PKP2B coal miner with 18,084-ha coal concession located in Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, and has been in production stage.
4. PT Asmin Bara Bronang, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 24,980-ha coal concession located in Kapuas Regency and Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan, and has been in production stage.
5. PT Asmin Bara Bronang, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 7,296-ha concession located in Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan, and has been in production stage.
6. PT Bangun Banua Persada Kalimantan, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 6,960-ha concession located in Banjar Regency, and Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan, and has been in production stage.
7. PT Batubara Selaras Sapta, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 43,034-ha concession in Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, and has entered exploration stage.
8. PT Baramutiara Prima, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 19,340-ha concession located in Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, and has been in production stage.
9. PT Bharinto Ekatama, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 17,311-ha concession located in Barito Utara Regency and Kutai Barat Regency, Central Kalimantan, and has been in production stage.
10. PT Bumi Laksana Perkasa, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 11,330-ha concession in Kutai Timur Regency, East Kalimantan, and has entered feasibility study stage.
11. PT Delma Mining Corporation, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 20,160-ha concession located in Bulungan Regency, East Kalimantan, and has entered construction phase.
12. PT Kadya Caraka Mulia, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 4,628-ha concession located in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, and has been in production stage.
13. PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 21,875-ha concession located in Bulungan Regency, East Kalimantan, and has been in production stage.
14. PT Suprabari Mapanindo Mineral, third generation coal miner with 23,940-ha concession in Barito Utara Regency, Central Kalimantan, and has entered production stage.
15. PT Mahakam Sumber Jaya, third generation PKP2B coal miner with 20,380-ha concession located in Kutai Kartanegara Regency and Samarinda Mayoralty, East Kalimantan, and has been in production stage.
