Ministry officiates new household gas pipelines in Lhokseumawe

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Friday inaugurated new gas pipelines for 2,000 households in Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province.
The ministry said in a statement that the new household gas pipeline network in Lhokseumawe is the second pipeline network in the city following the installation of similar facility in 2014 for some 3,997 households.
Ministry’s Director of Upstream Management, Mustafid Gunawan said that the household gas pipelines will help push local households to switch to cheaper natural gas from LPG, and in turn help the government’s efforts to reduce the import of LPG.
