The South Jakarta district court has turned down the legal suit filed by non-government organization Indonesian Human Rights Committee for Social Justice (IHCS) on the world?s mining giant Freeport Indonesia?s contracts as quoted by Kontan

The court?s head of judge team, Suko Harsono said Thursday that the legal request was turned down because IHCS did not have any legal standing to file a legal suit against the mining contracts awarded by the Indonesian government to Freeport.

IHCS?s lawyer Gunawan said that IHCS would file an appeal to the Jakarta high court against the South Jakarta district court?s decision to reject its legal suit. (*)
