PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) is targeting completion of a 96 kilometer fuel pipeline connecting the Cikampek fuel terminal and the Plumpang fuel terminal in early 2027.
Indra Pehulisa Sembiring, president director of Pertagas, said the company is currently focusing on oil transportation infrastructure projects to support Indonesia’s energy security.
The pipeline project is expected to strengthen fuel distribution to Jakarta, with the Plumpang terminal serving as one of the capital’s main fuel distribution hubs.
“This will be important because it maintains and guarantees fuel supply for Jakarta,” Indra said in an interview with CNBC Indonesia recently.

He said the pipeline would become a new backbone for energy distribution by enabling more efficient and reliable transport of fuel from upstream to downstream facilities.
Pertagas said its core business remains oil and gas transportation, which contributes more than half of the company’s revenue. The company currently handles around 78% of Indonesia’s national gas transportation volume, supplying sectors including power generation, fertilizer and industrial customers.
In addition to conventional energy infrastructure, Pertagas is also exploring new and renewable energy businesses such as hydrogen and biomethane as part of efforts to expand its future business portfolio and support low carbon energy development.
