Pertamina facility in Sorong blockaded

The production facility in of state oil and gas firm Pertamina in Sorong, Irian Jaya, has been blockaded by thousands of protesting people since Wednesday, according to the Suara Karya daily.

The paper said that the blockade causes Pertamina dearly. The paper didn's say any figure.

Thousands of people had taken to the street shutting downs all offices in Sorong in a demonstration demanding the resignation of Sorong regent John Piet Wanane who has been alleged of corruption.(*)
