Thai energy producer B.Grimm Power reported that it has imported the first LNG cargo of 65,000 tons, making it the first private company in Thailand to import LNG for distribution to Small Power Producers (SPP).
In the initial phase, the Company revealed in its social media account updated on Monday, the LNG will be supplied to 10 of its combined cycle cogeneration power plants.
The LNG cargo arrived on August 25, 2024 at Map Ta Phut LNG terminal.

“This milestone supports the government’s natural gas liberalisation policy, which will help reduce the cost of electricity generation in the private sector, and positively impact the industrial sector and Thailand's economy,” the Company said.
BGRIM's wholly-owned subsidiary B.Grimm LNG was allocated an import quota of 1.2 million tonnes per year by Thai’s Energy Regulatory Commission.
