P. Panjaitan, a former worker of PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia has threatened to sue the oil giant for dismissing him from the company without "clear" reasons.

His lawyer M. Yusuf Daeng said in Pekanbaru on Thursday that his client was fired from the oil giant due to alleged corruption practices but he added that the reason was not backed by a strong proof and was only based on the company's internal audit.

"The client should be taken to court to prove his wrong doings? only court which could prove that some one is guilty or not," he said. He added that in his client's case, the company based its corruption charge only on internal audit, which is legally flaw.

Yusuf said that he would take his client's case to the local manpower office and if necessary take the company to court for unilaterally dismissing his client without "clear" reason.

Poedyo Oetomo, a spokesman of Caltex, said that Panjaitan had been dismissed from the oil company according to the existing standard procedure.

"Based on the internal audit, Panjaitan had violated the company's rule," he said, adding that details of Panjaitan's wrong doings could be checked in the company's industrial relations department. (*)
