Saudi investor plans to build an oil refinery in Pare Pare

A major investor from Arab Saudi will invest about US$2.5 billion to build a oil refinery plant in an industrial bonded zone in Parepare, Central Sulawesi, the Kompas daily reported on Monday.

The daily said that the construction of the oil refinery plant, which will be built with an investment of about Rp 23 trillion (about US$2.5 billion), will start early next year. The newspaper however did not name the investors.

Malik B Masry, the head of the industrial bonded zone, said that the Saudi investor had expressed a firm commitment to carry out its investment plan in the bonded zone. (*)
