Interest for Indonesian materials remain strong, especially from China, although heavy rains were said to be persistent. Bids and offers were in short supply, with supply still limited for prompt loading, although those with cargoes were understood to be holding on to them until clearer pricing signals are seen. For low-rank, offers were heard for geared vessels loading in February at $40.30-42.00/t FOB, basis 3,800 kc NAR. Bidders were seemingly keeping their interest close to their chests today, although one was reported at $35.00/t FOB, 3,800 kc NAR, for a February loading geared vessel.
Paper
M42 traded at $36.75 for December for 5,000 t, $40.25 for 10,000 t for January and 25,000 t for $39.75 for March. The last time M42 traded in the $40s was in early September 2018. Earlier in the day, M42 was bid for December at $35.00 and offered at $36.75, while January was bid at $39.75 and offered at $39.85. Bids were also reported at $39.00 for February and March. A spread for January vs February was bid at flat to M42 with an offer at plus $1.00, with February vs March and March vs April both bid at plus $0.25/t.
