Vale to build nickel processing facility in Kolaka

IDX-listed integrated nickel mining firm PT Vale Indonesia Tbk plans to build a new nickel processing facility using high pressure acid leaching (HPAL) technology in Pomalaa District, Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, report said Friday.

Vale President Director Nico Kanter said that his company was currently making the necessary preparations including the basic engineering and required permits.

?If all permits and licenses have been completed, then we?ll quickly start the basic engineering for this project,? he told bisnis.com.

Nico said that his company teams up with Sumitomo Metal Mining to complete laboratory test of iron ores in Pomalaa as a condition for proceeding with the basic engineering of the project using the HPAL technology.
